I am as shocked as everyone else, when the bottom 3 was revealed.
Allison and Danny were in the safe zone.
Leaving Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Matt Giraud as bottom 3.
And bottom two?
Adam Lambert and Matt Giraud.
Adam who has never been in the danger zone before was so close to leaving the competition. What happened? Have the fans lost their interest in his theatrical style or did they take for granted; thinking that "not calling a day will not make that much a difference"?
Anyhow, Matt, who was onced saved by the judges could not saved himself through last night's performance.

American Idol Top 5 Performance
Today is slightly different for me.
Usually, I can't really decide between Adam's or Danny's performance.
But today, it was crystal clear.
Here's my ranking based on tonight's performance.
No.1 Danny Gokey
No. 2 Kris Allen (He was truly amazing tonight)
No. 3 Adam Lambert
No. 4 Both. There isn't number 5 for me. *wink* So if you ask me who do I think will go home tomorrow night? *Zipped*

Swine Flu Outbreak
Is this going to be another epidemic as serious as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003?

I hope not.
But from the look of it, the speed of which it is spreading and the measures taken to tackle the rising problem seems to be the same.
Anyhow, countries like Hong Kong, New Zealand, United States, China, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, Philippines and Singapore are taking stringent measures to prevent it from spreading further.
Today my 2nd Sis-in-law sent the following email to me regarding the Swine Flu which was first forwarded by Dr Daniel Chan, the vice president-Corporate Services, Shenton Medical Group, Parkway Health-Primary Care Network.

Singapore Star Awards
I literally leaped, cheered and clapped so hard last night when
Chew Chor Meng won the Best Supporting Actor award.
Chen Han Wei won the Best Actor award.
Ng Hui won the Best Supporting Actress award.
Joanne Pei won the Best Actress award.
Of all the awards I think THESE 4 were the best matches.

The most moving 'thank you speech' (to me) has to be from Chor Meng, 41, who is suffering from muscle dystrophy.
To see the once-so-agile man having to limp on stage and obviously losing the control on his left side of his body pains my heart.
He thanked those who have expressed concern for his illness. He was diagnosed with the genetic disease in September last year and while not life—threatening, it is incurable and causes progressive muscle weakness.
Chor Meng, you are an inspiration. *hugs*

I would say I expected that.
Over the years of being a fan of American Idol, I realised that whoever argues with Simon or with any of the judges will be in trouble.
She had argued with Simon 3 times!
And in yesterday's performance, she disagreed with the whole panel of judges!
Its like cutting her own life-line.
There is a reason why they are sitting there and if you have no respect for their views, then you really need to reconsider staying in this entertainment circle.
Oh well!
Enough said.
Next week, the competition will be soooooooooooooooooooooo hot!

Both my hands are UP in the Air!!!
Finally!!!! *eyes rolled*
"Singaporeans who borrow from loansharks have been put on notice and the Home Affairs Ministry (MHA) is considering making such acts an offence in the country." - taken from this article "Borrowing from loansharks may become an offence".It took them so long to finally discuss about this. The big word is still 'MAY'. It just might not happen afterall....

The unlicensed moneylending harassment cases have almost doubled from 2,066 to 3,993.
To counter this rise, the police have installed more CCTVs at harassment—prone sites like lift landings in housing estates.
"From the arrests made, we know that many borrowers eventually join the loanshark criminal organisation as runners to carry out harassment and vandalism....
This is so true. Its a form of repayment of their debts too. But only males were given the opportunity, for obvious reasons.
Community leaders welcomed the move as neighbours of those who borrow from loansharks end up being harassed as well.
The town councils have also been doing a lot of goodwill painting and repair work to all the common property damaged by the loansharks and their assistants. So we need to come out with a holistic approach to resolve this problem....
With the opening of Singapore's very first Casino, end this year, all sorts of measures have been taken to 'educate' the citizens about 'controlled' gambling. *sigh* Its pretty sad and contradicting isn't it? To me it is.....

How to know if Today is your Lucky Day?
When you finally get sun after days of having thick clouds ruling the sky.
Your basketS of clothes finally get a chance to be dumped into the washer and
hung out for a good sunbathe.
3 hours later,
the clothes feel 'crispy' dry with natural fragrance and
just when you pull it near to your nose to breathe in deep,
you have this staring right back at you!
BIRDSHIT!!!

But on 3 different clothings!!!!

American Idol Top 7 Results
THEY SAVED HIM!!!
I would have cried if I were him too! Oh Matt, you are one lucky guy! Please make good use of this chance of a lifetime!
Though he isn't one of my favourites, even now, I do not have any special feeling towards him, somehow his humility shines through the screen.
To me, he is like a yo-yo contestant. One week he is in the bottom 3 and the next, he is NOT!
Then history repeats itself again. Anoop is still NOT OUT YET!!! *Aarrrggghhhh*
Is the whole of India making those international calls? Are they even watching this season? Do they show American Idol there too? Now that Anoop Desai is in the top 7, MAYBE, because of him, the entertainment channel in India really did! *faint*

Singapore Indian Rojak Food Poisoning
Indian Rojak, what used to be something my dad and I love in the past could actually take away 2 innocent lives.... the danger of food poisoning - scary.The Health Ministry laboratory tests has confirmed that the cases were caused by a cross—contamination of rojak and raw seafood ingredients harbouring the Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria.
Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria cause watery diarrhoea and abdominal cramps, usually with nausea, vomiting, fever and headache. The symptoms typically last between one day and a week.
There were a total of 154 cases, of which 48 were hospitalised and 2 died. The MOH said death associated with the bacteria is rare, and it is awaiting the coroner’s report on the two deaths.
3 of the victims whose name were mentioned includes:
Madam Rosiah Samat who had lost her 2 month foetus after consuming the rojak.Aminah Samijo, 57 year old canteen assistant, died at 6.50am on 6 April.
Norani Kassim, 59, died around 10am on 8 April.
No food remnants were available for microbiological testing because the "Rojak Geylang Serai" stall had been cleared out by the operators and the rojak food items and gravy discarded the moment they received complaints from customers.
Though nothing could be tested on the gravy or the rojak food items, the authorities believe that it could be a repetition of a case in 1983, which involved 34 cases. Back then, it was the abundant drippings from raw cuttlefish that had contaminated the rojak gravy.
The stall owner of "Rojak Geylang Serai" in Geylang Serai Temporary Market was prosecuted by the authorities for the worst mass food poisoning outbreak in Singapore since 2007. That year, over 150 people contracted salmonellosis after eating Prima Deli cakes.The Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) said that the stall owner’s licence will be suspended once the court hearings are over.
*sigh* Seriously, I wonder if the owner knows that the raw cuttlefish's drippings could have such deadly consequences, he might not..... But still, when lives are lost after eating his food, who else could take the blame? *sigh*

Not a Crowd Lover
It was raining monsters and dinosaurs yesterday.
"Come! Let's go for a drive." exclaimed my ever-eager-to-drive-in-downpours husband.
Oh yes! He got his wish alright.
The visibility was so bad, we had to drive at 40-50km/h.
As the man enjoyed his feeling of "nah-nah-nah-boo-boo-you-can't-make-me-wet", the kids were enjoying the sight of huge splashes of water as the wheels rolled over the mini-flood.
Me? You asked? I was reminded of how Allan and I used to get drenched during such days, when he was still riding his Harley Davidson look alike bike, as we passed by arms-folded motorcyclists taking shelters under those flyovers.
The joy ride stopped at Vivo City, when the heavy rain became drizzle.
What a mistake!
We had forgotten that it was Good Friday.
A Public Holiday.
A everyone-dash-out-of-their-house day.
So many "Excuse me", "Make Way", "Ouch!" (When someone was accidentally stepped on); was heard everywhere.
Seriously, I can't even remember when was the last time I join the crowds in the shopping centres. Completely dislike the feeling of queuing to get up on the escalator; having handbags to hit my elbow by some shopping queens who are too engross in the items in showcases then noticing the HUMAN in front of them; having ill-mannered people to slide their WHOLE BODY infront of me to reach for the same item from the shelf, when the distance between me and the shelf is but half a metre. *Arrrggghhhh*
Last, but definitely not least, I can't stand the chatterings, high pitch laughters, quarrelings, yellings, scoldings, arguings of the hundreds all at the same time. *eyes rolled*
I think I'm too pampered over these past 3 years, ever since Allan became a property consultant. Extremely flexible working hours, he is like a stay at home dad, hence we could be out at almost any time we want to.
Since then, I truly love the quieter shopping malls, the ease of seeing things without peering over someone's else shoulders (ok, I'm pretty short), the wonderful feeling of finding the correct item on the right shelves (you know how MESSY the toys departments are during holidays and weekends?! Unbelievable! Sometimes you really wonder if the parents bother to teach the kids "Put it back where you first took it"), and the ample parking lots available near the lift. *Smile*
I know not everyone has this privilledge, I used to belong to that category too. Now, I hold this blessing close to my bosom, not taking a moment of it for granted.

American Idol Top 8 results
The 23 year old blind contestant, Scott MacIntyre is out of the race in becoming the next "American Idol" after singing "The Search Is Over" yesterday.
Can I say that I was expecting this... ahem, but for next week? I was soooooo hoping Ryan would shout Anoop Desai's name! *eyes rolled*
Though the judges did argue a little whether to use their once-per-season veto power to keep him in the running, I would be EXTREMELY surprise if they did save him. SERIOUSLY!
First, he is NOT really that good. Afterall, this IS "American Idol", so if he had been appearing in the bottom 3 for more than once, that shows how little support he was getting, isn't it? So why waste this golden veto on him?
So the 7 remaining finalists are Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Matt Giraud, Anoop Desai, and Lil Rounds.Next week, ANOOP DESAI - OUT!!! *Humph*

Blink Blink
*Phew* Finally, after the last order was collected this morning, I can rest my eyes from these.
Seriously, I don't know if I should cheer or sulk. 'Cos if I'm not sorting them, packing them... I'm not earning from them. Hmmm...
But my eyes have been hurting ever since I started clearing them and THESE are NOT the smallest items I'm selling. *Faint*
The more I pack them for my customers, the more strenuous it is for my eyes, 'cos I could only do such meticulous task when my kids are asleep. I wouldn't want to risk counting till 99 and wham, my boys fly me a bear hug, knocking my things off and I've got to do a recount. You know what I mean right?
So I'm usually doing this at about 12mn, when the kids are REALLY ASLEEP.
Ok, anyhow, like the Chinese saying goes, "Xiu xi, shi wei le zou gen chang yuan de lu." (Rest is necessary before a longer journey can be taken)
So I'm enjoying my 'rest' now... I just hope it won't be too long.... *laugh*

Did you face the same problem?

I had been wondering why did my children's blog's traffic dropped so drastically over the past few days. Today Ling, told me that she was not able to receive updates from my blog, ALL ABOUT YOUR CHILD for 3 days.
I realised that my feed, http://allaboutyourchild.com/feed is not working and I have no idea why or how to solve it. But I have sent out 'urgent calls' to all the techni-gurus that I know of, hope this problem gets resolved FAST.
Have you NOT been getting updates from my children's blog too?

American Idol Top 9 Results

Finally!!! Megan is OUT!!!
ok, I caught a number of stones thrown at me from Megan's fans...
then Anoop is in the bottom 2!
Yippee!

I find him snobbish, too self-centred...
ok, now some empty Coke cans hit me...
So American Top 8 : Adam Lambert (my sis's only favourite), Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud and Scott Macintyre.
Ooooo.... what really made me so high was DAVID COOK!!!!
I can't really explain why, since last season till now, so long as he starts to sing, I'm sucked into the TV.
And the big Wow for me in today's show was THIS WOMAN!
I have never heard of Lady GaGa
That piano! Wow!
That outfit! Wow!
That ZIP eye-accessory! Wow!
That dance! Wow wow wow!
